JAY BEALE
is an open source expert and has written two of the most popular
tools in this space: Bastille
Linux, a lockdown tool that introduced a vital security-training
component, and the Center for Internet Security's Unix Scoring Tool.
Both are used worldwide throughout private industry and government.
Through Bastille and his work with the Center, Jay has provided
leadership in the Linux system hardening space, participating in
efforts to set, audit, and implement standards for Linux/Unix security
within industry and government. He also focuses his energies on
the OVAL project,
where he works with government
and industry to standardize and improve the field of vulnerability
assessment.
BILL BONI, CISSP,
is Vice President and Information Security Officer of Motorola Information
Protection Services. He is responsible for the company's overall
program to protect critical digital proprietary information, intellectual
property, and trade secrets.
EUGENE SCHULTZ, CISM,
CISSP, is a Principal Engineer at Lawrence Berkeley
National Laboratory of the University of California. He is the author/co-author
of several books on UNIX security, Internet security, Windows NT/2000
security, incident response, and intrusion detection and prevention.
He will present a timely analysis of the vulnerabilities and remedies
involved in the use of Internet Explorer.
CALEB SIMA
is the founder and CTO of SPI Dynamics, which focuses on security
at the Web application layer throughout the development lifecycle.
Caleb is widely known and respected within the Internet security
community for his expertise in penetration testing and his ability
to identify emerging security threats. Caleb formerly worked with
the S1 Corporation and as an X-Force member of Internet Security
Systems, where he focused on the research and development of security
advisories. Some of his engineered exploits have gained media attention
in publications such as the New York Times and the Washington Post.
He has also been featured in US News and World Report and Security
World magazine and presented at the 20th Anniversary ISSA International
Membership meeting.
JOEL RAKOW, Ed.D,
is a Partner at Tatum Partners leading the eCrimes Practice. He
has served as an advisor to the U.S. Secret Service and the Los
Angeles Electronic Crimes Task Force. Dr. Rakow is on the IT Security
Council for the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS),
the faculty of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Law and Private
Security Conference, and a member of Infragard. Dr. Rakow will present
a discussion on “Electronic Crimes and the Corporate Response."
